Tawhito -- Old school.
This book contains two stories, one for adults/one for youth.
Tawhito, a magical realism novel for adults, tells the story of Cara, a milliennial blogger, who, in the aftermath of a traumatic event, wakes up in an enchanted, remote, bush hideaway. Devoid of technological devices, released from the pressures of a busy modern life, and inspired by an array of the magically-gifted people she encounters, Cara searches for her own inner talent. After finally grasping her gift, Cara uses it to overcome her previous trauma and reconcile the magic with her modern-lifestyle back home.
Old School, a magical fantasy story for tweens, teens, and young adults. It tells the story of Nate, an 11-year-old boy, who mysteriously finds himself in the magical location of Old School. Because no one knows why he's there or how he could be returned home safely, Nate is enrolled. Entranced by the location, the talents of the other students, and the amazing magical skills of the instructors, Nate enjoys his time at the school, but always feels a bit out of place. When he finally gets the explanation as to why he arrived in Old School, Nate must make a serious choice between staying there or going home.
