Set in a small town on the northeast coast of Australia, the author tells the story of a top woman chef who has given up the rat-race of big city life and now owns a fish and chip shop! As a member of the Coastguard, she rescues a guy when his yacht sinks under him in a storm. The story revolves around just who and what the shipwrecked man is and who is trying to get rid of him! The local policeman, Noah, has loved Darcy ( the lady chef) almost since childhood but is reluctant to put the love to the test. Assassins come looking for the sailor and it is up to Darcy and Noah to keep him safe. To use an old fashioned term, this is a rattling good yarn with action aplenty and old fashioned romance. Easy to read, good characterisation and a great sense of place. Well recommended.
