Novel for young adults.
Set in rural New Zealand in 1967 two teenage cousins Chris and Roger despise each other. Chris is puny and erudite, while Roger is an excellent weightlifter but academically slow, and Roger uses his physical prowess to bully Chris. As the summer progresses the boys begin to appreciate each other's differences. Then there is a terrible car crash and they have to rely on each other to save the lives of others.
