2000 copies printed foolscap size and 300 large paper in demy folio. There are interesting special copies of the latter, at least one (WTU) having col. plates. A descriptive account of the trees and larger shrubs, chiefly from economic aspect. Although the wealth of data on the strengths of various timbers and their possible uses has been modified or disproved by later research, the work, with its clear, recognisable diagrams and straightforward text, is still of interest and value.
