After her husband is killed, Kirsty puts her life on hold, focusing on her work and living with her obsessive brother. Then she meets Ed James, a lonely old man whose sole surviving relative cares only about his money. Though dying, Ed still has a few tricks up his sleeve. He leaves Kirsty all his money and his vineyard estate, but on the condition she lives in Western Australia for at least a year without her brother.
