Jack Bonner, former lawman, has retired to the small town of Crossroads, Texas. But when a rogue gunman shoots up a saloon, Bonner feels obligated to investigate, as there is no lawman in town. He reluctantly agrees to take on temporary marshal duties. Things go sour when Z Bar ranch owner Horace Davies hires a known gunman instead of cowboys, turning the Z Bar into a haven for outlaws. And when Davies offers a reward for Bonner's demise, Jack goes into action...
