Val Raymond was best known during the 1960s, 70s and 80s for her portraiture and Central North Island lanscapes. Inventing new watercolour techniques led to her artistic trsnaformation during the 1990s - painting exquisite "abstract expessions"that combine unusually different aspects of New Zealand heritage: landscape and legend: birdlife, history and environment ; natural history, Maori art and culture. Val Raymond considered her 'Millennium 2000 Exhibition - Tauponui-a-Tia - A Celebration of Feather and Fibre' to be the height of her artistic career. This publication presents that Millennium 2000 exhibition again, referencing 3 exhibitions leading up to it and following it.
